A new bridge spans the Our

With the official opening of this new bridge in Auel, one of the few remaining gaps along the 125-kilometre-long cycle path has been closed.

Since the opening of the Vennbahn in 2013, the route had led over a temporary bridge and a meadow path running parallel to the route. After the flood disaster in July 2021 caused additional damage, all cycling traffic had to be diverted onto the regional road leading via Steffeshausen to Burg-Reuland. This is now a matter of the past. The impressive steel construction is another architectural highlight on one of the most scenic sections of the Vennbahn. Thanks to the new construction, cycling and hiking in the Our valley can once again be enjoyed in all serenity and without cars.
